Have a lot on your plate? Don’t let school assignments slip through the cracks! Keep yourself (or your little learner) organized with the help of the printable student assignment tracker template! Great for any age or grade, this printable can work as anything from an elementary school to a college assignment tracker.
School can be challenging, especially when balanced with other facets of life like extracurriculars, work, and household responsibilities. One way to make life easier is to get organized, and my preferred way to do so is, you guessed it, with printables! This assignment tracker printable is one of those super helpful organization tools; in fact, I think it’s the best way to keep track of school assignments.
The student assignment tracker template printable is part of the 13-page student planner printable bundle, which is full of printables that can help you keep academic life organized and on track. More on that bundle later in this post.
You may be wondering why a printable instead of an online option; after all, you could create an assignment tracker Google Sheets template, which would be free. Here are two of the reasons I prefer using printables to online options, even an assignment tracker Google Sheets template:
1. Access – This is probably the biggest plus in my book. A piece of paper (printable) can be accessed any time, anywhere, as long as you remember to bring it with you. On the other hand, an online option requires a device and probably either Internet access or cell service. This can be problematic, especially if you’re using the assignment tracker printable for younger children who probably aren’t allowed to use a device at will at school.
2. Distraction-free – Let’s face it, whenever you (or your kid) get on a device you run the risk of getting distracted and pulled away from your academic responsibilities. After all, it’s so tempting to just play one round of Best Friends, do a quick Facebook feed scroll, or watch a TikTok video. You don’t have to worry about that temptation when you opt for a printable, which is why I think this printable is the best way to keep track of school assignments.
Student Assignment Tracker Template Printable
This printable can work for all ages and grades, meaning it will work as an elementary all the way through college assignment tracker. The student assignment tracker template features a:
- Class field – where you will write which class the assignments pertain to. My recommendation is to print a separate assignment tracker printable sheet for each course.
- Semester field – where you can write the semester (or quarter) the class is in. You may only need this if you’re using this printable as a college assignment tracker since younger students typically have the same classes all year.
- “Check” column – where you can place a mark when the assignment has been completed.
- Assignment column – where you will write the assignment or project itself.
- Due date column – where you will write when the item is due to be turned in.
- Grade – where you can come back and fill in your final grade. This can help you keep track of how you’re doing in the course. However, you could also use the grade tracker printable, which is also part of the student planner printable bundle, for this purpose.
Bonus: While the student assignment tracker template can give you a sort of birds-eye view of course work, what has been done, what’s left, and how you’re doing in the class, it may not be the best way to see the work you need to complete on a day-to-day basis. This is where calendars are useful to track homework assignments. In other words, scheduling the work on either a daily or weekly planner. Here are some planners and calendars that are useful to track homework assignments:
- Free Homework Chart Printable – This is a great option if you need to help your child (or multiple children) keep track of work.
- Free Printable Weekly To Do List – This is a great way to get a birds-eye view of what’s coming up throughout the week.
