Your home will radiate “love” with the help of these Valentine’s Day décor ideas! From banners to wall art, choose from 5 DIY Valentine’s decorations below.
They say home is where the heart is, and this Valentine’s Day, you can really highlight the love in your home with these Valentine decoration ideas. Don’t usually decorate for Valentine’s Day? I think it’s time for that to change!
You probably decorate for Christmas and maybe for some other holidays like Thanksgiving, Halloween, and Independence Day. So why not Valentine’s Day? Here are two reasons I think you should embrace these Valentine’s Day decoration ideas:
Doing so may improve your mood. According to Good Housekeeping, “Studies show that decorating for the holidays improves mood and ignites positive memories.” Okay, sure those studies were most likely centered on Christmas décor, but why wouldn’t the same be true for Valentine’s decorations?
Doing so is a fun way to keep the kids entertained while they’re stuck inside. Some of the Valentine’s Day home décor projects in this post are kid-friendly, and can be a great option when the weather outside is frightful! 🙂
Overall, these Valentine’s Day décor ideas are fun, frugal, colorful, cheerful, and just an all around great addition to your home during these dreary winter months!
Valentine’s Day Décor Ideas: “Be Mine” Banner
The “Be Mine” bunting, which is another word for banner, is a cute yet classy DIY Valentine’s décor project. As you’ll see, it’s a little less colorful (and perhaps a bit more “grown-up”) than some of the other Valentine decoration ideas in this post. The “Be Mine” banner is part of the Ultimate Valentine’s Day bundle, more on that in a bit, but if you want to get an idea of how it comes together, check out these Halloween bunting printables as the concept is the same.

DIY Valentine’s Decorations: Love Banner
Something I really like about this banner is that while it could be used as part of your Valentine party decorations, it could just as easily be used to commemorate other occasions. Basically, any time you want to celebrate love—a bridal shower, anniversary, wedding—you can use this love-themed bunting! You could also use this banner as a Valentine door decoration; it’s sure to create a welcoming vibe. 🙂

Valentine Decoration Ideas: A Lotta Heart
What’s special about this Valentine’s day room décor is that there are a couple of different ways you can put the project together. In other words, there’s room for your own special creative touch! The first option is to create a layered heart with love on top. (See images below.)
Another way to use these Valentine’s Day home décor SVG files is to create a chain of hearts. As you’ll see in the image below you can essentially stack a big heart with the word love on it between two small hearts. Don’t be afraid to play with the layout and organization; try different sizes of hearts and different orientations!

Valentine’s Day Decoration Ideas: Cute and Colorful
Whether you need to make Valentine party decorations or just every day home décor, be sure to check out this idea. It’s simple enough that little hands can help out and allows you to play with different colors, which means you can customize it to fit your home or your party! To make this, I cut out a large heart, laid different colored strips of paper over top, and then affixed them with a glue stick.

DIY Valentine’s Décor: Heart Filled with Love
Is your home and your heart filled with love? Share that with the world with this Valentine door decoration or home décor project. To create this, I used a cute free Valentine SVG file. I used my Cricut to cut out the heart and write “love” all over it; then I affixed it to red cardstock with a glue stick.
