These Halloween crafts for toddlers are so good, it’s scary! They’ll spark creativity and help build fine motor skills and self-confidence.

Halloween with a toddler can be a real treat—after all, could those little costumes be any cuter? However, it can also be a challenge. It’s basically the start of the all-too-chaotic holiday season, and in many parts of the country, the weather is getting frightful, which means more time indoors! 😱
That’s why Halloween may be the perfect time to let little hands get messy with glue, paint, and plenty of imagination … if you dare! In addition to helping your child have a spooktacular Halloween, even simple Halloween crafts for toddlers can spark creativity and help build fine motor skills and self-confidence.
From playful pumpkins to friendly ghosts, these Halloween activities for toddlers are sure to bring smiles (and maybe a little glitter) to your home this fall.
Pumpkin Halloween Crafts for Toddlers
Free Pumpkin Printables – These pumpkin printables can be used in a variety of different craft projects. I love how easily they can be scaled up or down to fit your schedule, mess-tolerance, and of course, your child’s abilities. If you’re feeling brave, embrace the mess, and incorporate these pumpkin printables in the shaving cream craft demonstrated in the video below!
Pumpkin Volcanoes – Okay, I’ll admit it, this is more of a Halloween activity for toddlers and kids than a Halloween craft for toddlers. However, it’s still a fun and holiday-appropriate way to keep them entertained!
Pumpkin Seed Pumpkin – This craft project is perfect for toddlers who are about to graduate to the preschooler status! Plus, it’s a creative way to use up pumpkin seeds after carving your family’s Jack-O-Lantern.
Bonus: If you have a preschooler (think age 4 or maybe 5) rather than a toddler (think 18 months up to 3 or 4), some of these Halloween crafts for toddlers may be too easy. No worries! You can find more preschool-appropriate Halloween crafts here.
Paper Plate Jack-o-Lantern – If you’re ready for an activity that is a little less messy, I’ve got you covered. This option is paint (and glitter) free! Opt for washable crayons for a craft project that is easy to clean up after.
Ghost Halloween Crafts for Toddlers
Free Ghost Printables – If you’re looking for flexible Halloween activities for toddlers, look no further! Choose from 5 free ghost printables, which can be used in a scary number of ways. For example, you can allow your little one to decorate their ghost with a variety of materials you have at home, from crayons and paint to glitter and torn-up cotton balls.
Footprint Ghost – Your child’s adorable little foot becomes the world’s cutest ghost in this project. If you’ve got time, do your foot as well to make a whole family of ghosts!
Handprint Ghosts – This option is very similar to the Halloween craft for toddlers above, just with hands. Have fun with it, though, and allow your child to decorate their ghost once the paint has dried.
Glowing Milk Jug Ghosts – This is not one of the Halloween activities for toddlers that’s more hands-off for Mom (or Dad). However, it was too cute to pass up. Your child can still help by drawing faces on the milk jugs—just watch out for those permanent markers!
“Scary” Halloween Crafts for Toddlers
Please note that the word scary is in quotations above. These Halloween activities for toddlers are not really scary; however, they do include some of the creepier concepts of the holiday (like monsters) but in a totally cute way!
Free Printable Halloween Shapes – Choose from six classic Halloween icons, each accompanied by suggested craft projects. For example, you can take the witch’s hat and make it into a headband or the bat shape and make a bat mobile to hang in your home.
Marshmallow Skull – Try not to eat all of the “crafting supplies” before your kid can complete this Halloween craft for toddlers! To keep things simple, you can create the outline of the skull with glue and then have your little one add the marshmallows.
Toilet Paper Roll Monsters – Reuse toilet paper rolls to make some cute little monsters. Simply add a few decorative items and a touch of creativity.
