You can use these free printable number stencils in a variety of ways—from educating to entertaining, for kids and adults. Keep reading for inspiration and sets of small, medium, and large number stencils!
I love printables in general, but I’m a huge fan of those that can make life better or easier. And printables can do that in so many ways; for example, they can help you:
- Learn something, like the free printable bubble letters templates (for your child) or how to write calligraphy.
- Get organized, like with these printable hourly schedule templates and free homework chart printable.
- Improve your mental well-being via free printable self-esteem worksheets or coloring pages, which can help you relax.
Isn’t it amazing that free printables can do all of that? And these free printable number stencils are no exception! For example, you can use number stencils for painting or coloring to express your creativity or as a way to help your kid learn his or her 123s. And the possibilities don’t end there, so let’s dive in!
Psst! I have letter and number stencils templates. Stick around for the numbers, but go here for uppercase free printable alphabet stencils templates and here for lowercase free printable alphabet stencils templates.
Large Number Stencils Set
These large number stencils are great when you want to make a statement, get creative, and maybe even sneak in a little learning. 😉 Here are two ideas:
(Secretly Educational) Coloring Pages
Letter and number stencils, like these large free printable number stencils don’t make for exciting adult coloring pages, but they can entertain little ones … and maybe even teach them a thing or two. Download a number 1 stencil, number 2 stencil, etc. and give them to your kid to color. This is an easy way to get them familiar with number shapes.
Bonus: Another way to help your child learn to recognize numbers while working on his or her fine motor skills is with color by number worksheets. Here are two free printable options: Spring color by number printables and Easter color by number printables.
Number Stencils for Painting on a Large Scale
Feeling crafty? Maybe you want to create a homemade banner to celebrate your kid’s birthday or your 10th wedding anniversary. Maybe you want to do something less creative but no less important like spray paint your house number on your mailbox. These free number stencils can help!
- Print out a number 4 stencil, a number 5 stencil, or whatever number(s) you need.
- Cut it out.
- Take the piece of paper, which now has a number 6 stencil shaped hole in it (or whatever number), and place it on a surface.
- Paint (or color) over the hole or trace just an outline, if you prefer.
- Remove the piece of paper.
Black Large Number Stencil Set
These dark free number stencils are really good for (drumroll please) … tracing. Okay, yeah, that might not be the most creative use, but they are, after all, stencils!
Print a number 3 stencil, number 8 stencil, etc. and then put a piece of relatively thin paper on top. Since these printable number stencils are so dark, you’ll most likely be able to see the number through your top sheet, making it super easy to trace.
Tip: While tracing the number 1 stencil (or whatever) can be an easy way for you to learn to draw numbers free-hand, this probably is not the best way to teach your child to write his or her 123s. After all, when we “write” numbers they don’t look like this, right?
Bonus: Remember how I said I had letter and number stencils? Well, I also have bolder letter stencils that are great for tracing! Check out this uppercase free printable bubble letter alphabet stencils set and free printable lowercase bubble letters alphabet stencils set.
Colorful Large Number Stencils Set
These large colorful free number stencils would be great for creating fun décor, that everyone, including your budget, will enjoy. For example, you could use them at a birthday party for your child. Put his or her new age in bright and bold numbers all over! 🙂
Bonus: These vibrant number stencils would fit right in at a rainbow party.
Medium Printable Number Stencils
Use these medium uncolored number stencil templates to create flashcards or DIY games that, like the coloring sheets mentioned above, are (secretly) educational. For example, print out a number 1 stencil, number 2 stencil, so on and so forth and create a game where your kid has to find the next number in the sequence. Another option is to print multiple sets and create a matching game.
Bonus: As your child masters the 123s, make the sequence game more challenging by adding more numbers. Here are free printable bubble numbers 0-100.
Medium Black Printable Number Stencils
Like the large version, these medium number stencils are ideal for tracing. As I said above, these probably are not the best option for teaching your child to write his or her 123s, but you can still use them to refine writing and fine motor skills! Plus, having your child trace these numbers can help him or her learn how much pressure to apply to the page when writing, all while getting some quality time with numbers. 🙂
Tip: Make tracing a number 2 stencil (or whatever) more fun for your kid by giving him or her an end goal. For example, “we’ll use these numbers you’re tracing to make a homemade birthday card for Dad!” Having a mission is sure to help motivate them.
Colorful Medium Printable Number Stencils
These medium free printable number stencils can also be used to create homemade cards, such as birthday cards. For example, you could add someone’s age to one of these “Happy Birthday” bubble letters coloring pages to make a custom card from the heart!
Small Number Stencil Templates
Use small letter and number stencils, like these, for small scale projects like decorating a scrapbook page, baby book, or vision board. You’ll find pre-colored options below, but I usually opt for these uncolored number stencils so I can customize them to my needs. A few of these printables and a box of crayons and I can create any color or design I desire. 🙂
Bonus: Number stencil templates are great, but sometimes (okay, frequently), you also need letters for your crafting projects. I’ve shared numerous alphabet templates on this site before, but for your everyday go-to, try these simple lowercase bubble letters to print and uppercase free printable bubble letters alphabet.
Small Black Number Stencil Templates
As your child’s writing skills grow, you’ll need new ways to challenge him or her. Try using smaller number stencil sets so that he or she can practice writing in a smaller hand. Obviously, you can also use these number stencils to learn how to draw smaller numbers as part of your journey into calligraphy or just free-hand drawing.
Bonus: As your child’s counting skills improve, you’ll need new ways to challenge him or her in that area too. One super fun activity that can do just that is connect-the-dots printables!
Colorful Small Number Stencil Templates
Rounding out this whopping list of free printable number stencils are small rainbow number stencils. Use these in crafts, decorations, homemade gifts or cards, and more. Just get creative! And if you still need more printable numbers, here are even more free printable numbers templates!
