Homemade Oil Treatment for Hair – Great for Moisturizing & Strengthening
Are you a big fan of summer? Yep, there’s a lot to like. Unfortunately, your hair might not feel the same way. From UV rays to pool chlorine to hair clips and ties, the summer isn’t exactly the most hair-friendly season. If your hair is starting to show the signs of all this wear and tear, I’ve got just the thing for you: A homemade oil treatment for hair.
This 5 ingredient recipe combines a moisturizing hot oil hair treatment with a strengthening hot oil hair treatment. The end result is shiny, soft tresses that can stand up to just about anything summer throws your way! 🙂
Now, all 5 ingredients in this homemade oil treatment for hair are good for you, but there are definitely two heavy hitters: coconut oil and Argan oil. Here’s a closer look at why both are included in this moisturizing hot oil hair treatment.
Cocnut oil – I’ve talked about coconut oil hair treatments in the past but here’s a refresher on why coconut oil is so darn good for your locks. It’s a natural moisturizer that does a great job at penetrating your hair follicles due to it’s low molecular weight (draxe.com). Plus, no strengthening hot oil hair treatment would be complete without coconut oil since it’s proteins and nutrients can stimulate hair growth, helping to repair damaged hair.
Argan oil – Don’t worry, Argan oil is definitely pulling its weight in this hot hair oil treatment. Argan oil is non-greasy, which means it won’t leave your tresses feeling oily, weighted down, and difficult to style. In addition, it’s many a stylists’ secret weapon for taming frizz while protecting locks from heat (like that generated by hair dryers and straighteners). Oh, and most importantly when it comes to strengthening hot oil hair treatments, some research has shown that Argan oil can promote hair growth (draxe.com)!
Pretty impressive, am I right?
As if all that weren’t enough, you can make this Argan and coconut oil hair treatment in less than 5 minutes so even you super busy moms (wait, isn’t that all of us?) should be able to put this awesome DIY hair recipe to good use!
