When you think of Halloween, what comes to mind? Ghosts? Pumpkins? What about bats? Believe it or not, this free bat printable may be just what you need to have a spooktacular holiday!
Below are some of my favorite ways to put a printable bat template to use, but please, share your ideas and projects in the comments. 🙂
Two-For-One Bat Printable: Lunch Box Notes
This two-for-one Halloween bat printable would make for perfect lunch box notes. What are lunch box notes? They’re a super sweet (and frugal) way to brighten someone’s day.
Simply snag this bat cutout printable, write a note (such as “I’m batty for you!”) on the back or on the bat itself using a white or metallic Sharpie, and add it to your kiddo’s lunch bag. Hey, and no one said these lunch box notes are just for kids. Treat your spouse to one as well!

Pointy Ear Bat Printable: Home Décor
A printable bat template also makes it scary easy (and inexpensive) to decorate your home this Halloween! There are a lot of things you could do with this Halloween bat printable, but some of my favorite ideas include:
- Taping it to your windows.
- Using clear fishing line to hang it from various surfaces, like ceiling fans. (The clear fishing line will make the bat look like it’s flying!)
- Adding this bat cutout printable to a banner or bunting. To brighten things up while still staying on the Halloween theme, intersperse the bats with bright orange printable pumpkins.

There’s a lot this printable bat template can do… including curing your kids of cabin fever. Yep, turn to this bat when the weather turns nasty. Supply your kiddos with pipe cleaners, googly eyes, popsicle sticks, pompoms, and if you’re feeling especially brave, glitter, and allow them to give this gloomy bat a spiffy makeover!

Looking for something a little simpler (and cleaner) than a full blown craft project? Look no further than this blank bat printable coloring page. This printable bat template plus some crayons are a quick cure when the kiddos come down with a case of the “I’m bored!”
Encourage your kiddos to be creative with this Halloween bat printable; after all, who said bats have to wear all black? 🙂 Once they’ve finished coloring their bat printables, use them to decorate the house or as homemade Halloween cards!
