Puzzles, Puzzles and More Puzzles (Link to Puzzles for Kids)
As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, I love Melissa & Doug toys and games and some of my favorites include Melissa & Doug Puzzles like these:
66. Melissa & Doug USA Map 51 pcs Floor Puzzle: This educational toddlers toy packs a heaping helping of knowledge. Your child will develop puzzle solving skills, learn a little geography, and pick up some interesting facts about the states.
67. Melissa & Doug Solar System 48 pcs Floor Puzzle: This puzzle will lead your little one on an out-of-this-world adventure while building puzzle solving and cognitive skills.
68. Melissa & Doug Deluxe Classic Peg Puzzle Bundle: With 4.5 out of 5 stars (and over 600 reviews) you know your getting a great product. These 3 puzzles will help your little one learn the ABCs, 123s, and colors.
69. Melissa & Doug Shapes – Chunky Puzzle: The large, thick pieces of this educational toddlers toy are great for little hands. Plus, the bright colors make this puzzle irresistible.
70. Melissa & Doug Wooden Bear Family Dress-Up Puzzle: Help your toddler develop social and situational skills by having him or her dress the bears or change their expressions to fit the circumstances. For example, what would the bears wear if they were going on vacation? This 45 piece mix-and-match set is great for storytelling.
Educational Games
71. ThinkFun Zingo: This is easily my favorite of the educational toddlers toys. My son calls himself the “Zingo Champion” because he really does dominate this game and he loves it! We have multiple versions of this game including this ThinkFun Zingo and Zingo! Sight Words. There are lots of other Zingo game versions as well that are very highly rated. Check them out here.
72. Chutes and Ladders: This one is an oldie but a goodie. Trust me, you’ve forgotten just how much fun it is to play Chutes and Ladders. The whole family will love this; plus, it is great for teaching the little one (and perhaps some not so little ones) good sportsmanship.
73. Educational Insights The Sneaky, Snacky Squirrel Game: While I haven’t had the opportunity to try this game out, it is on my list of educational toddlers toys to purchase for my son because I have friends who absolutely rave about it. This game teaches matching, sorting, hand-eye coordination, and more.
74. The Learning Journey Match It! Alphabet Memory: This game is a fun way to learn the alphabet, matching skills, and good sportsmanship. Bonus: This is one of those games where there’s no need to let your little one win because they actually might get more matches than you. Note: There is a numbers version, The Learning Journey Match It! Counting, if your child needs to work on learning his numbers and counting.
75. Sequence for Kids: The hit game for adults has been reworked for kids. This educational toddlers toy game is great for helping your child learn to strategize and (when played with pairs) to work as part of a team.
76. Alphabet Bingo Games: BINGO! Pick up some inexpensive prizes at your local dollar store and help your toddler master the alphabet with this alphabet bingo game. At only $8.99 on Amazon this is a steal!
77. Melissa & Doug Suspend: Okay, this game looks strange and perhaps far too complicated for even an adult but I promise it’s educational. This fun-for-the-whole-family game will help your child develop hand-eye coordination, cognitive skills, and more. Note: This isn’t technically an educational toddlers toy as it is recommend for ages 8+ but your little one may be able to master it sooner.
78. Scrabble Junior: This game is awesome because it’ll grow with your child. Use the first side of the game board while your child is just beginning to master the art of spelling and reading. Then, once your child is a little more advanced, flip the game board over for a blank space where players can create their own words (more like “regular” Scrabble).
79. Melissa & Doug Flip to Win Memory Game: Planning a road trip this summer? If so, this educational toddlers toy is a must! With 14 fun themes to choose from, no loose pieces, and educational properties, this game is a win-win for you and your little one.
80. Learning Resources Snap It Up! Phonics: Word Families: This fast paced game is a fun way to help your little one master the art of reading.
81. Phonics Flash Cards (Brighter Child Flash Cards): These flash cards provide a fun and easy way for your child to practice his or her vowels, consonants, and blending of the two. Utilize this educational toddlers toy on a regular basis (ex. once a day) and your toddler will be reading in no time!
82. LeapFrog LeapReader Interactive Solar System Discovery Set (works with Tag): How about an out-of-this-world vacation this summer? Yep, with this solar system discover set, you and your little one can travel to the stars and beyond while learning about astronomy, earth science, and scientific inquiry.
Switched On Kids says
Hello,
My name is Judy Pond,
While searching educational toys for my (Twins) toddlers I came across you website and found some interesting and useful content.
And being a mother I always try that my kids would learn something while playing and those learning toys seems like they would be great for my kids.
I am very sure that these toys will be beneficial for them and let those imaginations run wild with all of the things they would build.
Thankyou so much for this lovely post.
Waiting for the next one:)
