Ah, the open road. The wind in your hair. The sun warming your arm as you lean against the window. The smell of fresh air racing through the car. Scenery whipping by as you coast on a ribbon of blacktop.
Okay, that’s probably the idyllic version of a road trip. If your a family headed out on a road trip this summer, you can probably expect some traffic and construction along with a dose of “he’s touching me!” and “are we there yet?”
However, don’t let that deter you. Road trips really can be great. First off, depending on your destination, driving may be cheaper than flying. Plus you don’t have to get through airport security which means your shoes only come off if you want them to. In addition, road trips let you and your family see the country and have an adventure or two.
If you and your family are destined for the open road this summer, avoid costly (in terms of time and money) stops along the way to pick up the slew of items you forgot to pack. Instead, get organized by planning your very own road trip checklist.
A road trip checklist will help you make sure you pack all the stuff you and your family need to have a fun and successful adventure. We’ve put together a comprehensive road trip checklist that should pretty much take care of you no matter where the road takes you.
Bonus: We’ve created a printable version of the road trip checklist that you can keep handy.
