If you ask a mom what time of year it is she will probably say “back to school season”. If you ask a child he or she will probably say “the end of summer” or the “beginning of fall”. If you ask a dad (or just about any man) he will probably declare loudly “football season!”
Yes, football season is upon us again. If you yourself aren’t a huge fan of the sport this time of year can be perplexing or even a little irritating but fighting it is useless. This year, embrace football season and have fun with it. Enjoy tailgating parties with friends and family, eat delicious food, and pick a team to root for (Hint: rooting against your hubby’s team can be a lot of fun).
If you’ve got a team of hungry football fans to feed or just need a little something to help you get in the football spirit, consider some fun football food recipes. If you aren’t sure what qualifies as football food recipes, head to the Internet for a quick crash course but in general football food recipes taste good but aren’t so good for you. There are exceptions to every rule but that’s probably a good starting point as you collect football food recipes.

INGREDIENTS
12 medium sized jalapenos, halved & seeded
8 oz. cream cheese, softened to room temperature
2 tsp. garlic powder
2 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. Old Bay Seasoning
¼ tsp. salt
24 6” pieces of bacon, uncooked
DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat the oven to 300 degrees.
2. In a small bowl, combine the cream cheese and seasonings and mix well.
3. Generously scoop the cream cheese mixture into each jalapeno halve and spread out evenly.
4. Wrap each jalapeno with 1 piece of uncooked bacon.
5. Bake 30-35 minutes.
6. Enjoy!
