Looking for fun and frugal ways to keep your kids entertained and get them excited for Halloween? Look no further than these preschool Halloween craft projects!

Fall can be a tricky time of the year, at least around here. For one, the weather is super unpredictable, so outdoor activities are questionable. That’s why I like to have plenty of easy, kid-friendly DIY projects on hand. When the weather plays a trick on me, I can quickly transition to plan B!
If you’ve got little kids (think ages 3 to 5) at home, you’re in the right place. I’m about to share some of my favorite preschool Halloween craft projects! If your kids are a bit younger, be sure to check out these Halloween crafts for toddlers.
Preschool Halloween crafts are a great way to keep the kids entertained indoors. In other words, these Halloween crafts can stave off cabin fever… for at least another hour or two!
In addition, they’re relatively frugal and simple. Yep, none of these preschool Halloween crafts will send you screaming into the night. As a busy mom, I can definitely appreciate activities that don’t require hours of clean up!
Below are some of my favorite preschool Halloween crafts. The next time you’re faced with a rainy (or *shudder* snowy) day or a day that’s simply too cold to brave the outdoors, let your little one choose one of these preschool Halloween craft projects to try.
1. Spooky Halloween Sun Catchers (The Gingerbread House) – Kicking off my list of spooky preschool Halloween crafts is this simple sun catcher. One thing I really like about this project is that perfection isn’t necessary. In fact, since the houses are supposed to look spooky, it’s totally okay (even preferable) for the windows to be a little off-center and crooked!
2. Easy Fall Fingerprint Craft For Kids – Five Little Pumpkins (Mom Envy) – I love Halloween crafts for kids that incorporate learning. This activity coordinates with a fun book, Five Little Pumpkins, which will nurture a love of reading in your little one.
3. Halloween Spider Kids Craft (My Homebased Life) – Hmm, I think the “creepy crawlies” in this preschool Halloween craft project are too cute to be scary! This craft project doesn’t require too many materials, and with mom working the glue gun, it ranks pretty low on the mess meter.
4. Halloween Jack-O-Lantern Craft For Kids (Planes and Balloons) – Have the kids practice “carving” their Jack-O-Lantern with this fun project!
5. Halloween Craft: Make an Egg Carton and Tissue Paper Ghost (Jinxy Kids) – I love craft projects that allow you to recycle items that would otherwise end up in a landfill. This simple preschool Halloween craft project is a super frugal way to give your house a haunted feel!
6. Printable Stencils for Pumpkins (Freebie Finding Mom) – Jack-O-Lanterns are the OG Halloween craft project, am I right? Get your little one in the spirit of the season by letting them help trace one of these printable stencil designs onto a pumpkin. Then Mom or Dad can carve the design. This makes this not just a preschool Halloween craft, but rather a project for the whole family!
7. Halloween Craft Fun: Make a Paper Plate Spiderweb (Jinxy Kids) – Isn’t it nice when preschool Halloween crafts tie together? This project transforms a paper plate into a spiderweb, which would be an excellent home for the creepy crawly spiders project mentioned above.
8. Easy Fist Bump-kins Pumpkin Craft (Thrifty Jinxy) – Not only is this an adorable preschool Halloween craft, but it’s also a keepsake that you’ll look back on fondly years from now. Get the whole family in on this craft project (as the article suggests) or use a large piece of paper or poster board and have your kiddo add a new “pumpkin” each year. You’ll enjoy watching that pumpkin grow over time!
9. DIY Halloween Decorations Made From Plastic Jugs (My Heavenly Recipes) – Here’s another preschool Halloween craft that lets you re-use items that you might otherwise throw away. Don’t hesitate to get creative here. Evaluate each container you’re about to throw away and ask yourself if it could be “resurrected” as a spooky Halloween decoration!
10. Candy Corn Kids Craft (My Heavenly Recipes) – The last preschool Halloween craft project on my list is super easy. If you’re looking for a project that doesn’t require you to commit the whole day, this is it!
Look, Hollywood is never going to make a horror movie about bored kids trapped in a house all day, but as parents, we know there are a few things scarier! If you need a way to banish boredom quickly, be sure to try these preschool Halloween craft projects.
