Savings Chart Update Week 51: Placed Retail Order In Store vs. Online to Eliminate S&H Charges = $10.95 in Savings
It is hard to believe but the holidays will be here before we know it and for our family that means the obligatory family Christmas card. We typically have our family’s Christmas card picture taken in mid-October, so I have started looking for coordinating outfits for our family.
I found a cute burgundy and gray shirt for my son which means that’s the color scheme we are going with this year. I then discovered a gray sweater I liked for my husband (bonus: It was on sale too!), so I proceeded to order it online. As I continued through the checkout process I realized the shipping and handling was $10.95. In my opinion, that’s outrageous for one men’s sweater!
In all honesty I was being lazy because this retailer does have a store in our neighborhood but the sale ended that day and I was not going to have a chance to get there, so I called the store to see if they could place my order over the phone. (In case you are not aware many stores will waive the shipping and handling charges if you place your order over the phone in store.) Luckily for me in this case, they did not require I visit the store and they would take my order over the phone and waive the shipping and handling charges! Sweetness!
