Savings Chart Update Week 11: Took Advantage of Corporate Perk to Purchase Microsoft Office Professional for Only $9.95 vs. $399.99 = $390.04 in Savings
I am thrilled to say that this week I finally got my new computer! After much budgeting and research, I am now the new owner of a pretty little gal who will likely be permanently affixed to my body for roughly 80-90% of my day EVERYDAY! Being a blogger means I am online ALL THE TIME, so having a reliable, fast computer is essential. Let’s hope she does what she’s supposed to.
Anyway, my new computer did not come with Microsoft Office Professional, so I needed to purchase this. Unfortunately I did not take this into account when budgeting for my computer. Since it has been quite some time since my last computer purchase, I had forgotten how expensive Microsoft Office Professional is; but like for many of us, Microsoft Office Professional is not an option, it is a requirement, so it looked like I was going to have to spend the dough. Until-
A few nights ago my husband and I were chatting about the need for me to buy Microsoft Office Professional when instantly (not entirely sure why it came to me, but I am very grateful it did) I remembered his company used to offer Microsoft Office Professional for a crazy low price of $9.95 to employees. I knew about this corporate perk because I used to work at his company and I remembered a friend telling me about this deal. I asked him if they still offer this deal and he was not sure, but was going to look into it. Well, sure enough, they do. Holy awesomeness!
Needless to say I am now a proud owner of a new laptop with Microsoft Office Professional that only cost me $9.95! This sizeable savings is my Week 11 savings chart entry which brings my annual savings to $2,987.39. You can check out my Week 1-10 savings chart entries below.
