Savings Chart Update Week 14: Scored 50% Off on Halloween Candy the Day After Halloween = $17.00 in Savings
Now that all the candy has been passed out and the costumes are put away, it is time to snag some great Halloween candy deals! I must confess, one of my favorite parts about Halloween is the after Halloween sales especially on Halloween candy. As I do every year, on the day after Halloween I head to my local Kroger to snatch up leftover candy. This year I was slightly disappointed in the selection only because it had been incredibly picked over by the time I arrived. According to a Kroger store worker, a group of people came in minutes before I arrived and purchased 4 carts of Halloween candy for various schools in the area. (You read that correctly, 4 carts!)
With the wind taken out of my sails a bit, I continued searching the shelves and I was happy to discover a few bags of Halloween candy that caught my eye which I was able to get at 50% off! I loaded them in my cart, headed to checkout then went home to proudly display my findings to hubby (Who, by the way, even after all these years fails to experience the same excitement, joy, and exuberance that I do for saving money, though he was happy to see more candy). 🙂
Shopping after Halloween sales resulted in a savings of $17.00, which brings my annual savings chart total to $3,034.39. Head over here to check out my Week 1-13 savings chart entries.
