What a way to start my weekend. I woke up this morning with a sore throat. Ugh. I immediately thought “What in my medicine collection do I have to treat this?” Quickly I was reminded that cold and allergy season had already hit us hard, and we had depleted our stash of remedies.
As I was preparing to head to the pharmacy, I took one last look to see if I could find anything to help. As I forced my hand down into the basket of medicine, to my surprise I pulled out a handful of free samples for Advil! Sweet! I do not have to venture out to the store to purchase medicine, which according to Walgreens.com saves me $4.99 for a 20 count bottle of Advil.
Not only did I save money by having these freebies available, I also did not have to head out in these chilly temperatures, or waste gas in the car driving to the store specifically for this purpose. Plus, best of all, my sore throat is feeling better! Here’s yet another reason why I love freebies.
This brings my annual savings chart total to $3,039.38. Head over here to check out my Week 1-14 savings chart entries. I encourage you to join me in recording your weekly savings with this free printable savings chart. It is fun to track how much you save by making simple, smart money decisions.
