Do you have several inches of snow on the ground at your house like we do here in Ohio? On this past Sunday morning, though I did enjoy looking at the pretty snow, it did present a dilemma. What do you do when you have a 20 month old who is going stir crazy and desperately wants to get outside to play in his first snowfall, but his mom forgot to buy snow boots (or she is too cheap to buy them and not willing to admit it)? Whip out the plastic grocery bags of course!
As I was perusing Pinterest for repurposing ideas and other goodies (by the way, don’t forget to follow Freebie Finding Mom on Pinterest, I share loads of great ideas) the idea just came to me. I grabbed two plastic grocery bags, two rubber hair bands and a pair of boots and we had ourselves a pair of DIY snow boots. On a side note, when repurposing grocery bags, try selecting those that do not have a strong food odor. Unfortunately my son’s right foot smelled like green bell pepper for a while, but that’s a small price to pay for a good time. Though this may not be the most genius of repurposing ideas, it was exactly what we needed this morning. Ian and Dad had fun and mom had a few minutes of silence. Priceless!
What is mom doing to my feet now?
Got my nifty DIY snow boots and ready to head outside. I’m super pumped!
