Are you still friends with your best girlfriend from high school? I am, in fact, I am proud to say my friend, Melanie, is still one of my very best friends. Melanie and I became fast friends in elementary school. I can’t recall the exact situation, but I think it started when I lent her my tutu for a school play. Fast forward many, many years and we are still in each other’s lives.
Unfortunately she now lives in Honolulu and I am in Ohio, so we only get to see each other once a year when she comes back to Ohio to visit her family and friends. When she visits we try to make the most of it. We fill each other in on life, though thanks to social media we keep pretty good tabs on each other year round.
In preparation of our upcoming visit, I was trying to think of a fun way to share an afternoon with her. Recently I became aware of REESE’S Peanut Butter Cups that have personalized messages on them and I thought it would be a cute idea to send a sweet message to my BFF. To go along with these personalized REESE’S Cups I decided to pick up personalized Coca-Cola bottles as well.
I headed to my local Walmart and snatched up a few REESE’S Cups with sayings like “2 Funny” and “BFF” which are incredibly appropriate for our friendship. The girl cracks me up! For the personalized 20 oz. Coke bottles I did not see our names, “Kelli” and “Melanie,” so I picked up a couple of names that I like and that when combined are someone famous “Elizabeth” and “Taylor.” Even though I couldn’t locate our specific names in store, I noticed that on Coca-Cola’s website there are bottles with our names printed on them. Very cool!
This should come as no surprise since this year’s Share a Coke campaign is even bigger than last year. That’s right, last year’s Share a Coke campaign was so successful they made it even bigger and better this year by having over 1,000 names printed on bottles. Walmart has the widest and most organized selection of Coca-Cola personalized 20 oz. bottles and it is the ONLY place you can get personalized REESE’S Peanut Butter Cups.
If you are wondering where to find these personalized REESE’S Cups and Coca-Cola bottles, I spotted them in the front of the store, before you get in line to check out. I found a new separate well organized display for the REESE’S Cups and a new separate display for the Coca-Cola bottles.
I also noticed a cooler with the personalized Coca-Cola bottles and REESE’s Cups attached.
Though I love REESE’S Cups and Coca-Cola as much as the next girl, I thought one thing that could make this visit with my best girlfriend even better would be making a REESE’S Cups and Coca-Cola Ice Cream Float, so I grabbed a container of vanilla ice cream too. It is summer after all and who doesn’t love indulging in a delicious ice cream float?
Here is the recipe for your enjoyment. I hope this recipe helps you make memories with your friends and family this summer as well.
REESE’S Cups and Coca-Cola Ice Cream Float
1 20 oz. Coca-Cola

2. Divide the bottle of Coca-Cola evenly between two glasses.
3. Top each Coca-Cola with ¼ cup ice cream.
4. Sprinkle REESE’S Cups over top of ice cream.
5. Add a straw and enjoy!
