Your hair probably goes through a lot, am I right? Just think about all the things you can do to your hair. Blow drying. Straightening. Curling. Combing. Teasing. Dyeing. Blowouts. Perms. Keratin smoothing treatments. Tight hairstyles. All of these things can cause damage to your beautiful hair—leaving you with split ends, breakage, dryness, brittleness, and dullness—which is the opposite of what you want!
I’m no stranger to damaging my hair accidentally. For the longest time, I wasn’t taking proper care of my hair to account for all the damage I was doing to it. Here’s one recent example: last summer, in addition to highlighting my hair, I also had a straightening treatment done. (You’ve probably heard of this type of treatment: it’s been incredibly popular online thanks to its ability to reduce frizz.) Unfortunately, while my hair was straighter and less frizzy, it was also drier. Not great! If you’re like me, you want to have hair that looks nice and is manageable—but not at the expense of your hair health! (I mean, it kind of defeats the purpose in the long run, since damaged hair is less attractive and manageable.)
What I wish I’d known last summer was that I needed to baby my hair to make sure it recovered from the two treatments I had done. Basically, I needed to make sure that I had the right products and tools to keep my fragile hair healthy.
One product that I’ve tried recently that I loved was the Elvive Total Repair 5 Repairing Shampoo. Like the name says, this shampoo is for people who might have put their hair through the ringer. It’s made with proteins and ceramides to help repair the five signs of damage: split ends, weakness, roughness, dullness, and dehydration.
When I was using the shampoo, the first thing I noticed was that my hair felt softer and silkier even while wet. That’s a great sign! My hair has felt noticeably shinier and stronger since I started using it.
I’m definitely going to try the rest of the Elvive line: in addition to the shampoo, there is the Elvive Total Repair 5 Rapid Reviver Deep Conditioner and the Elvive Total Repair 5 Protein Recharge Leave in Conditioner. The leave-in conditioner would be great for everyday protection, and the deep conditioner would be perfect for right after major hair damage, like, ehem, doing more than one damaging hair treatment at a time. I love that the deep conditioner promises no leave-in time (who has time to stand around in the shower??), makes it easier to detangle, and provides 2X more results than a leading conditioner.
I think the best part about using a repairing shampoo is knowing that your hair health is protected—and that you can keep highlighting, straightening, etc. without frying your hair! 😉
Actually, just kidding: the best part is all that plus getting great hair without breaking the bank. Here’s an offer for $2 off any TWO (2) L’Oréal Paris® Elvive haircare or Advanced Hairstyle product (excludes any 1 oz. product, 3 oz. shampoo & conditioner, twin packs or value packs).
Not to mention, L’Oréal Paris® is running an AMAZING #StopWaiting sweepstakes to win a trip to Paris! The grand prize includes round-trip airfare for 2 to Paris, a 4-day/3-night hotel stay, and $2,000 to spend on meals and other expenses! Sounds pretty amazing, am I right?
The secondary prize includes a L’Oréal gift bag and CVS gift card (a prize value of $200).
Every single entry includes a $2 off coupon for the Elvive Total Repair 5 Rapid Reviver Deep Conditioner, so there’s really no reason not to enter! Worst-case scenario? Save money. Best-case scenario? All expenses paid trip to Paris. Hmmm… I’ll let you decide 😉
