So, what is National Donut Day? National Donut Day is the first Friday in June. This holiday has been associated with the Salvation Army since it was created in the 1930″²s to honor the Salvation Army volunteers who served donuts to troops in WWI. The Salvation Army is credited with popularizing the donut in the United States through this simple act of comfort and service. By continuing to celebrate National Donut Day, we recognize those who serve our country as well as their families when they come into times of need.
