Who knew potty training was this hard and could take this long? Not this mom! My three year old son is my first and only child, so I was clueless about potty training. I assumed when it was time to start potty training we would tell him to start using the potty and he would. Voila! Child is trained, proceed with buying cute underwear! Not so fast, Kelli! 🙂
This potty training thing is not for the weak. I will admit my son has been doing well with his potty training during the day (knock on wood hard!) for the past couple of months, but we have not figured out how to solve his nighttime issues. Needless to say when I discovered GoodNites TruFit I was thrilled to try them!
If you are not aware of GoodNites TruFit, they are a soft, machine washable fabric underwear that works with disposable inserts therefore they are not a diaper-type of product. This could be great for my son because he loves wearing his underwear since he claims “diapers are for babies.”
I love how proud my son is when he uses his potty during the day, which is why I want him to continue that same confidence throughout the nighttime. After he successfully uses his potty, he runs through the house to find both my husband and I, so we can do our “happy dance” with him. Then when I try to help him put on his underwear he says, “no, I do it!”
The other day I picked up a GoodNites TruFit Starter Pack at my local Hyde Park CVS store. I found them located in the diaper aisle.
GoodNites TruFit Starter Packs are available in a various of sizes and styles for boys and girls. Each pack contains two pairs of underwear and five absorbent inserts.
When I returned home I gave my son his new underwear and he was super pumped! I told him these new underwear will help him at night when he forgets to get up to use his potty. In the morning when he is wet, I know he feels bad because he’ll say, “sorry, Mommy.” Even though I reassure him accidents happen, I know he is discouraged. I am hoping these GoodNites TruFit underwear will help eliminate these moments.
If your children are having similar issues or maybe they are older and are struggling with bedwetting, consider trying GoodNites TruFit to improve their confidence during this time of transition.
